At Global Fruit, we know that quality starts in the orchards, but it doesn’t stop when the cherries are packed. Our mission is to ensure our fruit reaches consumers in the best possible condition, no matter where in the world they may be. Every detail matters, from the moment the cherries are picked to the time they are enjoyed, ensuring an exceptional experience every time.
Immediately after harvest, our cherries are chilled and then transported by water through the grading process to minimize damage and maintain freshness. All the packing houses we work with are using state-of-the-art optical grading systems, where cherries are carefully sorted by size, quality, and to remove fruit with defects.
Using premium packaging materials, we protect the cherries through their journey, ensuring bright, glossy fruit with crisp green stems and a delicious crunch. Our rigorous attention to detail paired with rapid cooling of finished pallets prior to shipping guarantees outstanding fruit quality and happy customers.
Our skilled quality assurance technicians oversee every stage of production, but we believe everyone plays a part in maintaining our high standards. Each team member is committed to upholding our promise of premium quality, every day and throughout the season.
Food Safety is a cornerstone of our business. The GLOBALG.A.P Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard covers safe and responsible farming practices, and we require all our exclusive growers in Canada to have a valid GLOBALG.A.P IFA certificate. We also work with a smaller number of growers on non-exclusive terms, and we require them all to have a valid CanadaGAP certificate as a minimum.
Global Fruit itself holds GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody certification and was one of the first companies in North America to achieve this.
GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody certification makes it possible to trace products that originate from a GLOBALG.A.P. certified production process and ensure they are not mixed with other products – from farm to supermarket shelf. By requiring Chain of Custody certification, we make supply chains safer and more transparent.
In addition, 100% of our fruit is fully traceable back to the orchard where it was grown. Certified 3rd party laboratories perform comprehensive tests for pesticide residues, heavy metals, and pathogens, ensuring we meet and exceed food safety standards in all global markets.
The packing facilities we work with operate HACCP systems and are compliant with GLOBALG.A.P. Produce Handling Assurance (PHA) and/or CanadaGAP Safe Food Handling Option C. These facilities are also inspected and approved under the US FDA Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) and the Canada Air Cargo Security Program. Furthermore, Global Fruit is a proud member of the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT), underscoring our commitment to secure and responsible trade.
